Cairo Airport Taxi

You should be careful if you decide to take a taxi as tourists are often targeted by free taxi drivers in the Arrivals hall.

Official taxi ranks are located at the exit of the airport.

Kinds of taxi

There are a couple of kinds of taxi at Cairo Airport: 

The old black and white taxis usually do not have a meter and prices are negotiated before departing. 

The newer white taxis have meters.

You will find yellow taxis too, the City Cabs. The fare is metered and most of these are new and air-conditioned.

Fares

It is common to negotiate the price for the ride with the driver before starting the trip, but an average fare from the airport to the Cairo city centre would be about 30$. Fares are metered. 

Limousine Service

The Limousine Service is a popular way of transportation from Cairo Airport. 

Prices are fixed according to destination and car category.

Pick up points: In front of the terminals. 

For example, Category A is luxury limousines, Category B is Micro Buses for maximum 7 passengers, Category C is midsized cars (e.g. Mitsubishi Lancer) and Category D is London Taxis.
